Apr 25: Aztech, Broadway, Olam, Stats Chippac

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close. Singapores Straits Times Index rose 0.9% to 3,194.73.

Aztech Group (AZ SP): The marine logistics company and electronics manufacturer said it had a first-quarter net loss of $21 million, compared with a net income of $1.6 million a year ago. Aztech fell 2.9% to 16.5 cents.

Broadway Industrial Group (BWAY SP): The maker of components used in hard-disk drives said first-quarter net income declined to $9.1 million from $11.9 million a year ago. The stock was unchanged at $1.10.

GMG Global (GGL SP): The owner of rubber plantations in West Africa said first-quarter net income increased to $15.5 million from $6.3 million a year ago. Its shares rose 1.8% to 28.5 cents.

Olam International (OLAM SP): The supplier of agricultural commodities said it is offering to buy the rest of NZ Farming Systems Uruguay Ltd. for 70 New Zealand cents each. The company owns about 78% of the dairy producer. Olam lost 0.3% to $2.94.

Stats Chippac
(STAT SP): The chip-testing and packaging company partly-owned by Temasek Holdings Pte said first-quarter net income dropped to US$6.3 million ($7.8 million) from US$27.5 million a year ago. Its shares gained 0.7% to 75.5 cents.
