Malaysia and Singapore agreed to cut roaming mobile phone and SMS charges between countries starting May 1, according to a statement issued by the Malaysian government today.
Roaming voicecall fees will be reduced by 20% and SMS charges by 30%, the statement said. Costs will be cut again in May 2012, it said.
The following companies have signed up to the agreement: StarHub, Celcom Axiata, Maxis, M1, DiGi.Com, Singapore Telecommunications and U Mobile.
