k1 Ventures invests US$100m in Guggenheim Capital

Singapore investment firm k1 Ventures (KMAR.SI), part owned by rigbuilder Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI), said on Tuesday it had invested US$100 million ($123.5 million) in US-based Guggenheim Capital through the purchase of preferred units and warrants.

Guggenheim, a privately held financial services firm with more than US$80 billion in assets under management, plans to raise up to US$500 million for business expansion and the possible repurchase of common equity.

“We believe this investment will yield significant complementary benefits for k1 Ventures, including investment opportunities and access to capital,” k1 CEO Steven Green said in a statement.
