Morgan Stanley names Aronovitch Southeast Asia banking co-head

Morgan Stanley has appointed David Aronovitch co-head of Southeast Asia investment banking to replace Arthur Lang who is leaving after 15 years, the bank said.

Aronovitch will be relocating to Singapore from Hong Kong to assume the new job while continuing his existing role as head of Asia Pacific consumer and retail investment banking, said Noel Cheung, a Hong Kong-based Morgan Stanley spokeswoman.

Lang is leaving the New York-based bank to join CapitaLand Ltd., Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, as group chief financial officer. He was named as co-chief of Southeast Asia investment banking with Eric Ma in March 2010, people with knowledge of the matter said at the time.

Aronovitch has been with Morgan Stanley for 13 years and will head the division along with Ma, who is based in Thailand.
