Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) (NEPS.SI), the world's seventh-largest container shipping firm, said on Monday it carried 7% more cargo in the four weeks to June 3 from a year ago, helped by higher volumes on intra-Asia and Asia-Europe routes.
NOL carried 228,000 forty-foot equivalent units (FEUs) during the four-week period, up from 212,600 FEUs a year ago, the firm said in a statement.
The average revenue per FEU fell 8% to US$2,557 ($3,174) per FEU from US$2,768 last year, mainly due to lower rates in the Asia-Europe trade lane.
