Jul 15: Noble, Sembcorp, SIA

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index rose 0.28 points to 3,088.70 yesterday.

M1 (M1 SP): The Singapore mobile-phone operator reported a 5% increase in second-quarter net profit to $42.8 million. The stock was unchanged at $2.57.

Noble Group (NOBL SP): Gloucester Coal has negotiated a new A$400 million ($522 million) debt facility with Noble Group. The unsecured facility has a four-year term expiring June 30, 2015. Noble declined 1.1% to $1.875.

Sembcorp Marine (SMM SP): The company said that SMOE, a wholly-owned unit, secured a contract worth about $600 million from PTTEP International The shares were unchanged at $5.20.

Singapore Airlines (SIA SP): The world’s second-largest carrier by market value apologised to customers after they experienced technical glitches while accessing its recently revamped website. The stock climbed 0.3% to $14.29.

Tiger Airways Holdings (TGR SP): The airline, whose Australian operations were suspended amid safety concerns, said yesterday prospective partner Thai Airways International Pcl. has told it state approvals for a low-cost alliance remain pending. Tiger Airways shares fell 0.5% to $1.01.
