Jul 25: Global Logistic, Mermaid, SingTel

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index climbed 1.4% to 3,182.95.

Global Logistic Properties (GLP SP): The operator of warehouses in China and Japan didn’t breach the Securities and Futures Act when it failed to disclosed in its prospectus a competition arrangement with ProLogis Inc., the Monetary Authority of Singapore said on July 22. The regulator won’t take action against the company, it said. The stock lost 0.5% to $2.04.

Mermaid Maritime Pcl (MMT SP): The provider of engineering services to the oil and gas industry said it won a drilling contract, potentially valued at US$26.5 million ($32 million), from a customer in Indonesia. Mermaid Maritime climbed 4.5% to 35 cents.

Raffles Medical Group
(RFMD SP): The Singapore-based hospital operator said second-quarter net income increased 10% from a year earlier to $11.70 million. The stock lost 1.3% to $2.34.

SATS (SATS SP): The ground-handling services provider partly owned by Temasek Holdings Pte said Chief Executive Officer Clement Woon resigned to pursue his “personal interests.” Tan Chuan Lye, executive vice president, was named as the acting CEO while the company starts a global search, the company said. SATS gained 1.2% to $2.62.

Singapore Telecommunications (ST SP): Southeast Asia’s biggest phone company said it will sell certain infrastructure assets, including seven telephone exchange buildings and its business of providing duct and manhole services to NetLink Trust for a total consideration of about $1.89 billion. SingTel, as the company is known, added 0.3% to $3.32.
