Tiger Airways says Australia flights suspended till Aug 1

Singapore budget carrier Tiger Airways (TAHL.SI) said on Thursday its flights in Australia are suspended till August 1 as a court hearing due on Thursday has been adjourned.

Tiger said it was in ongoing discussions with Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia regarding the suspension and “see no utility in having a hearing today whilst these discussions continue”.

Reuters reported on Wednesday Tiger Airways was working with Australia’s aviation regulator towards the resumption of domestic flights in the country by early August, a source said on Wednesday, after its flights were grounded more than three weeks ago on safety concerns.
