The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index was little changed at 3,189.26.
Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JCNC SP): The motor distributor that gets most sales from Indonesia said first-half net income climbed 35% from a year earlier to US$485 million ($583 million). Jardine Cycle fell 1.1% to US$48.36.
Jardine Matheson Holdings (JM SP): The owner of car distributors and real estate in Asia said first-half net income rose 95% from a year earlier to US$2.2 billion. The stock declined 2.9% to US$57.31.
Jardine Strategic Holdings (JS SP): The Jardine Matheson unit that owns drugstores, supermarkets and hotels said first-half net income doubled to US$2.5 billion from US$1.3 billion a year earlier. The shares slipped 2.1% to US$32.74.
SATS (SATS SP): The ground-handling services provider partly-owned by Temasek Holdings Pte said it and Creuers del Port de Barcelona SA jointly submitted a bid to operate a new international cruise terminal in Singapore. SATS lost 0.4% to $2.52.
Tiger Airways Holdings (TGR SP): The budget carrier partly owned by Singapore Airlines (SIA SP) said its Australian flights will remain grounded until at least Aug. 3. The regulator suspended Tiger’s flights in Australia on July 1 due to safety concerns. The stock dropped 2.4% to $1.205.
United Envirotech (UENV SP): The environmental engineering company said KKR & Co. agreed to buy the company’s US$113.8 million of convertible bonds. The five-year bonds carry a coupon rate of 2.5% per annum and can be converted into United Envirotech shares at 45 each, it said. The shares rose 1.5% to 35 cents.
