Aug 2: Cosco Corp., Cerebos. Sembcorp Marine

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.8% to 3,215.27.

Cosco Corp. Singapore (COS SP): the shipbuilding unit of China’s biggest shipping company said second-quarter net income fell 53% from a year earlier to $31.9 million. Cosco slumped 4.8% to $1.695.

Cerebos Pacific (CER SP): The maker of health tonic Brands Essence of Chicken said second-quarter net income fell to $16.2 million from $20.30 million a year earlier. Cerebos gained 0.9% to $5.36.

Sembcorp Marine (SMM SP): The world’s second-biggest builder of oil platforms said its Jurong Shipyard unit won contracts valued at $444 million to build two jack-up drill rigs for a subsidiary of Noble Corp. The company will release its second-quarter results today. The stock was unchanged at $5.40.

Singapore Exchange (SGX SP): The operator of the city’s bourse will announce its fourth-quarter results today. The shares were unchanged at $7.47.

Yanlord Land Group (YLLG SP): The China-based homebuilder said it sold 181 apartment units at a residential project in Tianjin, China, for 572 million yuan ($107 million). Yanlord lost 0.4% to $1.24.
