Aug 4: CapitaLand, OCBC, Rotary Engineering

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index slid 1.5% to 3,130.34.

CapitaLand (CAPL SP): Southeast Asia’s biggest developer said second-quarter net income rose to $399 million from a restated profit of $339.7 million a year earlier. CapitaLand dropped 2.1% to $2.80.

LMA International NV (LMA SP): The maker medical equipment said second-quarter net income jumped to US$10.4 million from US$2.2 million a year earlier. LMA slid 3.2% to 30 cents.

Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. (OCBC SP): Singapore’s second-largest lender by market value said second-quarter net income increased 15% from a year earlier to $577 million. That was less than the $603 million average of eight estimates compiled by Bloomberg. The stock fell 1.3% to $9.88.

Overseas Union Enterprise (OUE SP): The Singapore- based hotel operator said second-quarter net income climbed 20% to $20.1 million from a year earlier. The shares were unchanged $2.87.

Parkway Life Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT SP): The health-care trust partly owned by Asia’s biggest hospital operator said second-quarter distributable income rose 13% from a year earlier to $14.3 million. The stock gained 2.2% to $1.90.

Rotary Engineering (RTRY SP): The builder of storage tanks for the oil and gas industry said second-quarter net income decreased 26% from a year earlier to $10.2 million. Rotary lost 0.6% to 81 cents.
