The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index decreased 1.1% to 2,757.23.
Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, fell 1.8% in New York yesterday, extending its decline for a fourth day.
Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based supplier of energy, food and mining commodities, decreased 1.9% to $1.52. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, slipped 0.4% to $2.50.
Lian Beng Group (LBG SP): The Singapore-based construction company said it plans to spin-off its engineering and concrete manufacturing businesses for a separate listing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Lian Beng gained 1.5% to 34.5 cents.
Neptune Orient Lines (NOL SP): Southeast Asia’s biggest container carrier said average revenue tumbled 20% in the four weeks to Aug. 26 even as it transported 8.4% more cargo during the period. The stock dropped 2.2% to $1.095.
Rotary Engineering (RTRY SP): The builder of storage tanks for the oil and gas industry said it won contracts valued at $110 million between July and September this year. Rotary Engineering added 0.8% to 63 cents.
STX OSV Holdings (SOH SP): The world’s biggest maker of oil-rig support vessels by sales said it won contracts from Aker Seafoods ASA to build three stern trawlers for 750 million kroner ($166 million). The stock slumped 6.5% to $1.15.
Van Der Horst Energy (VDHE SP): The maker of biodiesel said it’s in talks for the possible sale of its metal logistics business with a potential buyer. The shares rose 2.4% to 13 cents.
