Sept 22: Beyonics, CapitaLand, Freight Links

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.4% to 2,791.79.

Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, fell 1.1% in New York yesterday.

Noble Group
(NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based supplier of energy, food and mining commodities, dropped 1% to $1.565. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, advanced 2.4% to $2.57.
 
Beyonics Technology (BT SP): The provider of electronics manufacturing services said it will report a loss for the year ended July due to lower demand from the hard-disk- drive industry. Beyonics added 1.8% to 17.2 cents.
 
CapitaLand (CAPL SP): Southeast Asia’s biggest developer said it expects to exceed its target of $5 billion to $6 billion of new investments in 2011. The company said in a presentation yesterday that it will seek acquisitions when price expectations are “moderated.” CapitaLand rose 1.2% to $2.63.
 
DBS Group Holdings (DBS SP): Southeast Asia’s largest lender said it signed an agreement with NDB Group to expand its investment-banking business in Sri Lanka and tap growth opportunities in the country. DBS added 0.2% to $12.36.
 
Freight Links Express Holdings (FLE SP): The provider of freight-forwarding and warehousing services said it agreed to buy San Lu Logistics Co., a developer of warehouse facilities in China, for 14.1 million yuan ($2.8 million). The stock was unchanged at 5.6 cents.
 
Soup Restaurant Group (SOUP SP): The Singapore-based operator of restaurants said it has established a Malaysian subsidiary. Soup Restaurant was unchanged at 12.5 cents.
