Singapore shares retreated by midday on Thursday, on concerns over U.S. economic growth and on doubts about the financial support for euro zone economies.
At 1:00 p.m., the Straits Times Index (STI) <.FTSTI> was down 0.33%, or 8.79 points, at 2,664.53. Around 195.1 million shares worth $180 million were traded, compared with 309.8 million shares worth $367.4 million that changed hands by the same time on Wednesday.
