STI gains 0.6% to 2,906.69 at closing

Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.6% to 2,906.69 at closing. Almost four shares rose for each that fell in the 30-member gauge. The measure advanced 9.8% this month, its best performance since July 2009.
