STI gains 1.4% to 2,849.38 at closing
Straits Times Index gained 1.4% to 2,849.38 at closing, extending this week’s advance to 2.1%. About three shares rose for each that fell in the 30-member gauge today. The market will be shut on Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 for the Lunar New Year.
