ST Engineering said its marine arm, ST Marine, has secured two shipbuilding contracts worth $75 million from Swire Pacific Offshore Operations, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific.
Under the deal, ST Marine will next year begin to build and outfit two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, measuring 92m x 22m.
The two AHTS will be equipped with the latest Dynamic Positioning technology and will be Special Purpose Ship 2008 compliant. They will also be designed with adequate tank capacities and clear deck space of about 650sqm.
The vessels are to be delivered in the second and third quarter of 2014.
