Singapore shares rose on Friday, in line with regional markets, lifted by Southeast Asia's largest telecoms firm, Singapore Telecommunications, and Singapore's biggest bank DBS Group Holdings.
By 1:00 a.m., the Straits Times Index was up 0.4%, or 12.83 points, at 2,991.67. Some 682.5 million shares worth $553.5 million were traded, compared with 776.8 million shares worth $654.4 million by the same time on Thursday.
