SGX may post 12% rise in Q3 profit-poll

The Singapore Exchange, Asia’s second-largest listed bourse, is expected to report a 12% rise in third quarter net profit on Tuesday, according to an average forecast of five analysts surveyed by Reuters.

SGX is expected to report $75 million in net profit for January-March, up from $67 million a year earlier when earnings were partly hit by costs linked to its failed bid for Australia’s ASX.

Shares of SGX have gained 9% since the start of the year, lower than the benchmark Straits Times Index’s 13% gain. Still, SGX has outperformed Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.
