Cosco wins first deal since Sept to build bulk carrier

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) has won its first newbuild contract since September.

Its 51% owned Guangdong shipyard will build two bulk carriers worth a combined US$41 million ($50 million).

The pair of 35,000 dwt bulk carriers will be delivered to a European customer in the second half of 2014.

Cosco Corp reported it won US$1.2 billion worth of orders in the three quarters of this yeark, a drop from US$1.9 billion worth in the same period last year.
