Thakral Corporation said the group reported earnings of $12.8 million in three months ended September 30, 2012, (3QFY2012) due to a one-off gain of $15 million from sale of its investment in Thakral Holdings Group in Australia in 3QFY2012.
A year ago, Thakral posted a net profit of $2.9 million.
For 3QFY2012, the group recorded revenue of $74.8 million, down 19% from $91.9 million in 3QFY2011.
On a quarterly basis, group EPS for 3QFY2012 was 0.49 cent as compared with 0.11 cent for 3QFY2011.
However, group Net Asset Value (NAV) per share slipped to 4.16 cents from 4.31 cents as at the December 31, 2011. This is due to the second interim dividend paid in 1QFY2012 as well as the operating and translation losses for the period. These were partly offset by the increased value realised from the THG securities.
