Singapore shares closed higher on Friday. The ST Index ended up 24.05 points, or 0.79%, at 3,069.95. Here are some stocks and factors to watch this Monday morning:

Singapore Airlines said on Monday it was in discussions with interested parties for the possible divestment of its 49% stake in British carrier Virgin Atlantic. Singapore commodity trader Olam requested on Monday a trading halt in its shares for one day pending the release of an announcement. Olam bought 100% of Dehydro Foods, which processes dehydrated onions and herbs in Egypt, for $30.8 million.

Olam said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange on Friday that CEO Sunny Verghese bought the shares in the open market at $1.54 each, raising his stake in the company to 4.67% from 4.63%.

Koon Holdings wholly owned subsidiary, Koon Construction & Transport Co Pte Ltd, has received a new contract worth $24.8 million. The contract, for the construction of roads, drains, sewers and a vehicular bridge at Jurong Island, will last 15 months.
