Aug 7: Yongnam, Biosensors, FCL, FEO, Vallianz

The Straits Times Index (STI) on Wednesday ended 7.44 points lower or -0.22% to 3,320.23, taking the year-to-date performance to +4.91%. The top active stocks were OCBC Bank (+1.41%), Global Logistic (-2.87%), DBS (+0.27%), UOB (-0.88%) and SingTel (+0.26%). Here are some stocks and factors to watch this Thursday morning:

TEE International said it won a total of $60 million worth of contracts to carry out mechanical and electrical works for the The Parisian Macao at the Cotai Strip, Macau.

Structural steel contractor Yongnam Holdings on Wednesday posted net loss of $5.26 million for the fiscal second quarter ended June 30. A year ago, it had reported profit of $8.63 million.

Biosensors reported a net profit US$9.9 million ($12.4 million) for 1QFY15 ended June. This compares to a net profit of US$12.1 million for 1QFY14 ended June.

Frasers Centrepoint Limited said it has received 28.65% acceptances for the offer to acquire up to 100% of Australand Property Group at $4.48 per share as of 6.30pm Sydney time today.

Far East Organization reported a net profit of $5.5 million for 2Q2014 ended June, 24.1% lower than the $7.3 million registered in 2Q2013.

Vallianz Holdings reported a doubling of net profit to US$5.8 million ($7.2 million) for the second quarter ended 30 June 2014 (2Q2014) from US$2.8 million in 2Q2013.
