The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today, says Bloomberg. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index rose 1.4% to 3,235.77.
Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, gained 0.1% in New York yesterday, the highest level since October 2008.
Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based commodities supplier, rose 2.3% to $2.22. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, advanced 2.2% to $3.21.
Ban Joo & Company (BJ SP): A trader of textiles said it is exploring several opportunities and potential acquisitions. The stock gained 11% to 5 cents.
Boustead Singapore (BOCS SP): The provider of engineering services was rated “buy” in new coverage at Kim Eng Holdings The stock increased 4.6% to $1.15.
Technics Oil & Gas (TGH SP): The engineering service provider said it won a $23.5 million contract in the Middle East. Separately, it won Taiwan approval to sell 80 million Taiwan Depository Receipts, each representing 0.5 common share, according to a document sent to underwriter Polaris Securities Co. from the Financial Supervisory Commission in Taipei. The stock gained 2.3% to 89 cents.
