Stats ChipPAC, the semiconductor test and advanced packaging service provider, said earnings for the second quarter ended June 24, 2012 (2Q2012) was US$8.92 million ($11.2 million) compared to US$19.23 million a year earlier (2Q2011).
Quarterly revenue slid to US$422.68 million from US$427 million a year ago.
For the first half of 2012, earnings was US$11.70 million, down from the US$25.50 million a year ago.
Revenue was US$812.87 million compared to US$836.38 million previously. The lower revenue was due to weak demand in the personal computers market and consumer, multi-applications markets.
