KS Energy announced on June 19 that its 80% owned subsidiary, KS Drilling, has agreed to sell jack-up rig KS Orient Star 1, for US$84.88 million ($106.1 million).
The consideration is about US$45.24 million higher than the aggregate book value of the rig, which was valued at US$39.64 million as of March 31, 2014.
KS Drilling is engaged in the business of providing onshore and offshore drilling services, rig management and support services, oilfield equipment ownership and leasing.
