Jul 4 morning preview

The Straits Times Index (STI) on Thursday ended +11.39 points higher or +0.35% to 3275.3, taking the year-to-date performance to +3.49%. The top active stocks were DBS (+0.77%), UOB (+1.85%), RH PetroGas (-6.47%), OCBC Bank (+0.11%) and SingTel (-0.26%). Here are some stocks to watch this Friday morning:

Mapletree Investments’ first shopping mall in Vietnam, SC VivoCity which is located in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, has attained pre-leasing commitment for more than half its net lettable area (NLA), way ahead of its scheduled opening in the first half of next year.

DBS Bank is the most valuable brand in the annual Top 100 Singapore Brands ranking for a second year running. DBS grew its brand value by US$535 million to US$4.01 billion ($5 billion) over the last year, said London-based consultancy, Brand Finance. It helped the bank extend its lead over the Singapore Airlines (SIA) brand by US$761 million.
