July 15: ST Engineering, UOB, Otto Marine

The Straits Times Index (STI) on Monday ended -2.75 points lower or -0.08% to 3290.98, taking the year-to-date performance to +3.98%. The top active stocks were DBS (+0.06%), UOB (-0.38%), OCBC Bank (+0.85%), Frasers Hospitality Trust (unchanged) and Golden Agri-Resources (-1.82%). Here are some stocks and factors to watch this Tuesday morning:

ST Aerospace, the aerospace arm of ST Engineering, said it has won new contracts worth $520 million in the second quarter of 2014.

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is financing a China-based company to build a plant in Johor, Malaysia, the bank said Monday.

Offshore marine firm Otto Marine has bagged charter contracts collectively worth about US$404 million in the first half of 2014, the firm said on Monday.

Ornamental fish firm Qian Hu Corporation posted a 73.5% drop in net profit at $22,000 for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014, after the market closed on Monday.
