Scorpio East wins 12-month local home video distribution rights from Universal Pictures

Scorpio East Holdings says the company had on Sept 20 entered into a deal memorandum with Universal Pictures International Entertainment for a 12-month home video distribution rights locally.

Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) is the international home entertainment division of Universal Pictures, the major Hollywood studio well known for its diverse slate of films including classics such as Jaws, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, the Jurassic Park series, and Mamma Mia!; high-concept comedies like Bruce Almighty, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Knocked Up; and homegrown franchises such as Back to the Future, Meet the Parents, Fast and Furious, and Bourne.

UPIE markets and distributes Universal new release, catalogue, special interest and local content titles, as well as some third party product, via operations in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil and Mexico.

UPIE also sells and distributes home entertainment products via 30licensee relationships covering approximately 100 additional territories.
