Singapore 2011 GDP grew 4.9%, budget surplus more than estimated

Singapore’s economy grew 4.9% in 2011 and the budget surplus for the fiscal year is $2.3 billion or 0.7% of the gross domestic product, more than estimated a year ago, Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said in a budget speech in Parliament today, reported Bloomberg.
