CSC Holdings, the Mainboard-listed foundation and geotechnical engineering specialist, has won another foundation contract for a MRT station under the Tuas West Extension project.
The group has been contracted to construct barrette piles for an MRT station under the Tuas West Extension project. Construction should start thus month and is expected to complete by mid 2013.
The Tuas West Extension project is an extension of the East-West MRT Line from Joo Koon station, and consists of a 7.5 km long twin-tracked MRT viaduct, four aboveground stations – Tuas, Tuas Crescent, Tuas West and Tuas Link – and a depot.
The MRT viaduct will also be integrated with a road viaduct along Pioneer Road to reduce congestion in the Tuas West area. According to the LTA, when operational in 2016, the Tuas West Extension is expected to serve some 100,000 commuters daily.
This is the fifth contract in six months secured by CSC for the construction of foundation piles for MRT stations. The other contracts secured earlier were in relation to four MRT stations under the Downtown Line 3 MRT project.
As at April 9, CSC’s order book stands at $270 million with the bulk of the contracts expected to be substantially completed in the next few quarters.
