ST Engineering unit wins $100m of new contracts in 1Q

ST Electronics, the electronics sector of ST Engineering, has secured about $100 million worth of new contracts in 1Q2012.

One of the contracts, valued at $27 million, was awarded by the Land Transport Authority to design, supply, test, and commission the on-board equipment for the additional 16 trains of the Circle Line.

The project, to be executed together with Alstrom Transport S.A. and Alstrom Transport Pte Ltd is expected to complete by end 2015.

Together with its related US company, VT iDirect, the company also secured contracts worth $67 million to provide satellite communication systems to local and international customers.
