Keppel unit wins $170m worth of upgrading projects

Keppel Shipyard, the marine division of Keppel Corp, has secured two floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) upgrading projects worth $170 million in total, both from long-term repeat customers.

The first contract, from SBM Offshore N.V., involves the refurbishment and upgrading of the existing FPSO Xikomba, and is expected to be completed by 3Q2013.

The second contract involves the modification and upgrading of Bumi Armada’s FPSO Armada Claire, which will start in 3Q2012 and be completed by 4Q2013.

FPSO Armada Claire will be deployed in Balnaves Field, Australia, upon its completion.
