Strong retailer interest at Westgate ahead of opening

Westgate (below), an integrated retail and office development in Jurong Gateway by CapitaMalls Asia, CapitaMall Trust and CapitaLand, is 50% leased ahead of its opening by Christmas. The development has attracted retailers opening their first stores outside the CBD.

These retailers include French bakery Paul Bakery and Isetan supermarket. Westgate’s mall has a retail space of 416,000 sq ft net lettable area, similar to the size of Raffles City Singapore’s retail area. Westgate’s office component, Westgate Tower, is about 50%-pre-leased to CapitaLand Group, which will move there progressively from end-2014.
