Eucon Holding, the integrated PCB solutions provider in China and leading independent PCB laser driller in Taiwan, reported a quarterly net loss of $4.6 million for 2Q12 compared a net profit of $0.6 million for 2Q11.
For the quarter, the group reported revenue of $17.5 million, a drop of 38% from $28.2 million from the corresponding period in 2011 (2Q11), with an across the board decrease in all segments and laser drilling taking the lead.
On a quarterly basis, revenue from PCB operations decreased by 28% from $21.5 million in 2Q11 to $15.4 million in 2Q12. Revenue from mechanical drilling and routing segment decreased by 26% from $2.7 million in 2Q11 to $2 million in 2Q12 while revenue from laser drilling segment decreased by 98% from $4 million in 2Q11 to $0.1 million in 2Q12.
Gross profit dropped from $5.6 million in 2Q11 to a gross loss of $1.1 million in 2Q12.
Loss for the half-year was $9.92 million. Gross profit of $2.1 million in its PCB operations was erased by a gross loss of $3.8 million from the remaining segments.
