NOL appoints Temasek's Ng to be next CEO

Singapore’s Neptune Orient Lines (NEPS.SI), the world’s sixth biggest container shipping firm, said current CEO Ron Widdows will retire by end of 2011 and will be replaced by a senior executive from state investor Temasek Holdings.

Ng Yat Chung, a former chief of Singapore’s defence force and a senior executive at Temasek, will be appointed as executive director from May 1 this year and will takeover as president and CEO on January 1 2012, NOL said in a statement.

Temasek owns around two-third of NOL.
